Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • GLENFIDDICH

    After many years in barrels of bourbon, this version of Glenfiddich continues its aging in barrels having previously contained sherry. This first batch inaugurated a succession of 11 versions to come, realised by Brian Kinsman, Master Blender of the distillery. Glenfiddich Malt Master's Edition is the result of aging in american oak barrels after a careful selection by our Cellar Master Brian Kinsman after maturing in sherry barrels for some years. Specificity: this is a double maturation, it is the aging in sherry barrels that contributes to giving it a unique character. Firstly, the single malt ages in american oak barrels of first and second filling for about 6 to 8 years, it is then transferred in the last years for its maturation in ex-Olorosso sherry barrels which bring the whiskey a unique character for a bottling at 43°.
