Our oenologists' opinion
Mahogany dress with shiny tiled reflections. Pretty nose of orange zest, kirsch, smoky, spicy notes of juniper and then dark chocolate. Nice balance, full-bodied, full-bodied, fat, character on dried fruits, hints of mocha and blond caramel. Nice straightforward, taut and elegant length.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
Founded in 1692, the Taylor's house is one of the oldest houses and the last of a family factory making port wine.
- Terroir: Located on schist hillsides, vineyards rest on a granitic subsoil. The culture is carried out on terraces clinging to steep cliffs that flow into the Douro Valley.
- Viticulture: La Maison Taylor's sources its wines with Varguellas Quintas, Terra Feita and do Junco.
- Wine-making: The Taylor's 10 Ans is assembled from a seelection of the best wine (from one and the same year), matured in aged oak barrels for close to 20 months before continuing its maturation in bottles.
