Fruity and well-rounded

Shiny yellow gold colour. Pretty fine and elegant nose of white fruits, dried flowers, iodised and salty notes. Nice balance, full, full-bodied, the alcohol is melted, finesse, notes of pear, dried banana, salted butter caramel, peaty point, roundness. Straight, taut, rather airy and sapid finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • NIKKA

    This Yoichi bottling plant is today the only representative of Nikka's historic single malt. A blend of whiskies of different ages, it expresses a subtle balance between smoky, fruity and floral aromas. Yoichi is Nikka's first distillery and is located on the coast of Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island. Produced according to traditional methods, such as direct heating over a charcoal fire, the malts perfectly display the authentic character of this exceptional place with their marine and finely peaty notes. Profile: balanced. Peat, smoke, nutmeg, dried fruit and chocolate.
