Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Located in south-west Scotland, the Isle of Islay is known to develop single malts among the most smoky and peaty in the country. It also includes the largest number of distilleries per square meter in the country with nearly a dozen still active.
Domain and appellation
Founded in 1815 by Donald Johnston, the Laphroaig distillery has belonged to the Beam Suntory Group since 2006, already owner of well-known brands such as Jim Beam or Maker's Mark.
- Distillery: The distillery Laphroaig is located on the island of Islay, Scotland.
- Manufacturing: This Single Malt, unfiltered cold, underwent a double maturation in ex-Bourbon casks. Aged, initially, on the same basis as all Laphroaig whiskeys, it is then transferred to small barrels called "Quarter Casks."
