Do you know ?
The bottle with the wax seal, red ribbon and ivory label with its Gothic letters virtually has not changed since 1880. The shape of the bottle, meanwhile, was inspired by the cognac still.
Domain and appellation
Created in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge is a liqueur that combines the exoticism of bitter orange with the nobility of cognac according to a recipe kept secret by the Marnier-Lapostolle family.
- Production: A fine connoisseur in cognac, Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle had the bold idea of combining it with a rare variety of oranges from the Caribbean: the bitter orange. Slowly aged in oak barrels, Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge thus acquires an incomparable roundness and complexity.
