Do you know ?
Manufactured from sugar cane first grown in Asia, in Persia, and then in Sicily, it was introduced to Europe and Africa by Alexander the Great in 327 BC, during the conquest of the Persian Empire. The Portuguese then conquered Brazil with the famous sunny drink in their galleons.
Domain and appellation
The Cachaça is THE number-one beverage in Brazil, extremely popular thanks to its delicate aroma given by a unique distillation method which brings out its taste. On the beach at Rio, in the barrios of Sao Paolo, it can be tasted at any hour of the day. It represents the authentic and welcoming spirit of the sugar cane. This alcohol is the principal ingredient of the famous Caipirinha: you will only need to add 3 spoons of refined sugar cane with cuts of lime and crushed ice to 5cl of Cachaça !
- Manufacturing: Sugar cane juice is distilled twice to elaborate this cachaça. The liquid ages in big oak tanks. This step multiplies its vegetal and complex aromas.
