Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Brilliant old gold colour. Clear nose of dried banana, candied pineapple, notes of praline, mocha, milk cream, hint of roasting. Good balance on a full-bodied whisky, quite robust, the alcohol is melted, frank. Good finesse, yellow fruit character, candied fruit, dried apricots, hint of vanilla. Good length without too much sweetness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • BUSHMILLS

A premium blend, composed of 80% Bushmills single malt, Black Bush takes its name from its dark colour. Its long maturation of 7 to 9 years in Sherry casks gives it an aromatic palette of rare richness and elegance: fat and fruity notes (citrus) followed by a long and intense finish. Ideal to enjoy as a twist with a slice of orange.
