Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Pale straw yellow colour with moonlight. Open, greedy nose with notes of candied white peaches, marshmallow and candied William pear, a hint of caramel and a slight smoky note. Ample, greedy attack with notes of caramel, candied yellow fruit, spices and candied mango, hint of crushed banana. Full, fruity and spicy finish, with a long finish on mango and chilli, powerful and greedy. Good balance!

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Togouchi whiskies are all aged in a unique location: a 361 metre long tunnel dug in 1970. It provides ideal maturing conditions for the slow extraction of flavours from the barrel, which explains the elegance of the Togouchi range.

Domain and appellation

DISTILLERIE SAKURAO

The SAKURAO distillery is a Japanese distillery located in the Hiroshima region, on the Seto Inland Sea. It will launch its first Single Malt in 2021. Production: Double maturation for 3 years in bourbon and sherry casks. Neither coloured nor chill-filtered. Tasting notes: Fresh and fruity nose with vanilla and apple flavours. On the palate, this whisky is round and smooth with sweet notes of dried fruit. The finish is lively with a touch of ginger.
