The Yonezawa Family, brewers of sake since 1856, began distilling in 1917. As the celebration of 100 years of spirit production approaches, the House has installed two new Forsyth's stills. This revival gave birth to the distillery named Kaikyo after the famous Akashi-Kaikyo bridge located in front of the distillery. Hatozaki Pure Malt is a blend of 100% pure malt whiskies that have been aged in 3 types of casks: Bourbon, Sherry and local Mizunara oak. It is then bottled without the addition of coloring and without cold filtration.
