Our oenologists' opinion
Bright and luminous lemon yellow colour, nice complex nose of passion fruit, citrus zests, fresh notes of ferns, then brioche bread, toasted. Well-balanced, fine bubbles, melted, full-bodied and quite vinous. Full-bodied, beautiful finesse with good length on chalky notes.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blanc is composed exclusively from Chardonnay drom the 5 villages of Côtes des Blancs classed as Grand Crus: Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger.
Domain and appellation
For the production of Comtes de Champagne, only the "cuvée" is used, an absolute guarantee of finesse.
Of the wines used in its composition, 5% are aged for 4 months in new oak barrels, one-third of which are renewed every year. During its 12 years of slow maturation in the cellars, time does its work, allowing this vintage to open up to us with extraordinary energy and ageing potential.
The opening of this 2008 vintage keeps all its promises.
