Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
Deep straw yellow colour, bright and luminous. Frank nose, open on notes of dried fruits, notes of grilled almonds, hints of yellow peaches, jammy fruits. Nice balance, frank and straightforward, full-bodied, with finesse, nerve, good tension with fairly fine and melted bubbles. A lovely Champagne with freshness, minerality and bouquet, but also full and fairly full-bodied. To be enjoyed with a meal as an aperitif.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
This Champagne is made exclusively from Chardonnay Crus from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims.
Domain and appellation
Laurent-PerrierThe Vintage is the choice of an exceptional year, of which only a selection of the Grand Crus of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir will enter into the composition of a future iteration of Grand Siècle.
A rare and exceptional wine that expresses the character of a year in the style of Laurent-Perrier.
2008 was characterised by a cold but not icy or dull winter and a rainy spring. The harvest began in mid-September under dry and cool weather conditions, resulting in perfectly healthy grapes, with beautiful Chardonnays and Pinots Noirs. These high quality grapes reveal a magnificent aromatic richness which foreshadowed an exceptional vintage.
