Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open and straightforward, with notes of citrus fruit, flint and fresh mint, with a hint of wild rose and fresh herbs.

The attack is supple, tangy and crisp, with freshness and notes of white flowers, followed by a citrus character.

The finish is sapid, elegant, clean and thirst-quenching, with a hint of hazelnut.

Good balance, medium persistence.

A lovely wine.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU DE BLIGNY

Built in 1773 by the Marquis de Dampierre on the foundations of a medieval château, Château de Bligny stands out for its unique architecture. Today, it is also the only champagne estate to bear the Château appellation.

Terroir: Situated not far from the Cistercian abbey of Clairvaux on the Côte des Bars, the estate covers more than 20 hectares.

Vinification: Produced using the traditional method, this Champagne Grande Réserve is a blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
