Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

The nose is straightforward, revealing aromas of toast and candied fruit, with a hint of minerality.

On the palate, the wine is well-balanced and medium-bodied, with fine, creamy bubbles.

The character is distinguished by notes of toast, sweet spices and a hint of candied ginger.

The finish is clean, smooth and supple, ideal for an aperitif.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • CANARD-DUCHÊNE

Combine the expertise of winemaker Léonie Duchêne with the talent of cooper Victor Canard and achieve a house with international prestige, marked by the Russian imperial crest, the crowned double-headed eagle.

Located on the prestigious estate of the Montagne de Reims Natural Park, the terroirs of Canard Duchêne rest on chalk, sand, clay, and limestone soils.

    • Viticulture: 60 crus are selected by the house to create a perfect blend of Pinot and Chardonnay.

    • Vinification: Made using the Champenoise Method, the Cuvée Léonie is aged for 3 years in the cellar with a dosage of 10 g/liter.
