Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The Maui Range of wines is named after the demi-god who, according to Maori legend, discovered fire, captured the sun and pulled New Zealand out of the ocean.

Domain and appellation

  • Tiki Wines and Vineyards

Owners of three vineyards in the regions of Waipara and Marlborough and Central Otago, Royce McKean and his wife Sue have produced their first wine, under a TIKI label, in 2009. Since then, the winery has won 21 gold medals for their wines.

Maui is the "little brother" of the Tiki brand. This wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc harvested in Marlborough, on South Island. The vineyard lays on a gravel and silt soil.
