Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
A deep golden colour with golden highlights, a powerful nose of passion fruit, mango and persimmon, followed by an austere mineral hint of gunflint, a well-balanced, full-bodied, fleshy wine, sweetness with a high degree of nervousness, a great character with candied fruit, stewed fruit and chocolate notes. Quite long finish with sweetness.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Domain and appellation
Established in Westhalten since 1650, the Muré family cultivates the vine. Today, it is represented by the 11th and 12th generations. In 1935, Alfred Muré, René's grandfather, bought the Clos St Landelin, a 12-hectare vineyard which made the reputation of the estate and remained the family's monopoly. The other vineyards of the estate are located on the neighbouring terroirs of Vorbourg, Zinnkoepflé and the Côte de Rouffach.
