Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
With its light yellow color and white gold hue, this wine offers a frank nose, on white flowers and notes of bergamot. On the palate, it opens up on minerality and flint, then on aromas of yellow fruits. Supple attack of fatness but with good tension, freshness, straightforward stretched character, good sapid persistence
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Domain and appellation
With the Domaine de Cigalus, bought in 1995, Gérard Bertrand finally found the terroir he had been looking for for a long time. A terroir where noble grape varieties, red and white, can express themselves in an exceptional and original way while keeping the Mediterranean authenticity that is the identity of Languedoc wines. A quality approach taken to the extreme, Gérard Bertrand decided to go down the path of Biodynamics. In 2010, the Domaine obtained the Demeter label.
