Powerful wine with potential

Scents of blackcurrant, spices and violet with a touch of pepper are released by this dark garnet-colored wine. Fruity and supple, the attack unveils a full-bodied wine with sweet spices flavors. Follow notes of raspberry and blackcurrant and ripe tannins. Notes of stewed black fruits are appearing during the length.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Sometimes, a natural sediment is perceptible in the bottle. It doesn’t affect the quality of the wine. Don’t hesitate to use a decanter to aerate your wine before the tasting, to isolate the sediment at the bottom of the decanter.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Lacapelle Cabanac

    Thierry Simon & Philippe Vérax, owner of the domain, have done an important work of modernization of the working tools and methods in 2001. Their aims were simple: produce wine respecting the environment and satisfy their customers. Concerning the culture, the conversion to an organic agriculture has begun at the end of 2001. Soils are labored and the weeding is done mechanically. The only treatments used, to fight diseases, are made of copper and Sulphur.

    • Terroir: The château Lacapelle Cabanac is located on the calcareous stones coated with clay.
    • Viticulture: Plots are cultivated organically since 2002.
    • Wine-making: Methods of wine-making used are traditional. They are put into practice with modern tools. Wines are not subjected to the collage step. They are lightly filtered before bottling.
