Domain and appellation
Château La Gordonne
The Château La Gordonne is one of the largest properties in Provence with more than 350 hectares and 300 vines.
- Terroir: Situated in the circle of schists like a crin, the vineyard of Château La Gordonne benefits from a particular microclimate. The winters there are not very rigorous, and the summer is hot and dry, this allows the vines to capture all of the heat of the provencal sun.
- Viticulture: The vines are cultivated in clay-limestone plain and on the schist hillsides. Low in humus, the soil is also permeable, shallow, stony and well drained, bringing together ideal conditions for vines to flourish.
- Vinification: A large variety of grapes, typical of Provence, is presented in the estate. There, one can find Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet, Sauvignon, Mourvède, Tibouren, Rolle ane Sémillon. These grape varieties allow for the development of rosé, white and red wines, all AOC Côtes de Provence.
