Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Straw-yellow colour with bright lemon highlights. Open, straightforward nose of white flowers, with fresh iodine notes and a hint of menthol. A well-balanced wine, straightforward and medium-bodied, with fine finesse. Nice character with iodised, almost salty notes, pearlescent, good sapid and taut length.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Château de L'HYVERNIERE

CHÂTEAU DE L'HYVERNIERE The 15th-century château was completely destroyed by fire during the French Revolution. It was then rebuilt and bought by Auguste Sautejeau in 1922, who transformed it into a vast wine-producing estate. In 2007, it became part of the Castel family of Châteaux and Domaines. Terroir: This 58-hectare estate, located in the communes of La Chapelle Heulin and Le Pallet, around thirty kilometres from Nantes, is planted on sandy clay, sandstone, schist and micaschist soils.
