Fruity and light
Its ruby color announces a fresh and exuberant nose of red fruits and blackcurrant. The palate is round, bold and characterized by spices with a nice envelope. The finish offers coated and pleasant tannins.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The Touraine grape varieties are very versatiles. They can be vinified in red, white, rosé or sparkling wines.
Domain and appellation
Established around the city of Tour and spread up to the Sologne department, the Touraine AOC produces wines with intense aromas. Its history dates back to the end of the antiquity with the foundation of the Marmoutier abbey by Saint Martin.
- Terroir: The AOC spreads over 4400 hectares with a diverse soils’ composition. The vineyards lay on clay-silex, clay-limestone, clay-sand and gravels soils.
- Viticulture: Gamay and sauvignon are the main grape varieties.
- Vinification: The vinification is short with cold maceration in order to produce easy-drinking, fruit-forward and aromatic wines. Those wines result from the collaboration between the maison Nicolas and local wine cellars, which are selected for their abilities to enhance their surrounding terroirs.
