Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The "Charmes Chambertin" climate is located in the southern part of Gevrey Chambertin, halfway up the hillside, facing east, close to the famous "Chambertin" parcel

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Chanson

The Gevrey Chambertin vineyard is located in the Côte de Nuits. This supply comes from a selected parcel in the northern part of the Gevrey Chambertin appellation, which is located on the slopes, on the edge of the Premiers Crus. The grapes are harvested by our teams.

Vinification: after a two-week fermentation in whole bunches, the red wines are aged in oak barrels in our 15th century cellars for 14 to 18 months, with a moderate proportion of new barrels.
