Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
The nose is bold and distinctive, characterised by woody and vanilla notes, before opening up to reveal aromas of candied yellow fruit, almond and delicate floral nuances.
The attack is supple and round, with a lovely balance.
On the palate, it reveals a bold and indulgent character, characterised by notes of frangipane.
The finish, savoury and harmonious, offers medium length.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation
-
MAISON JEAN LORON
SOIL: The Saint-Véran appellation is divided into two separate plots, separated by the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Both are situated on the slopes of the Solutré ridge, the crest of which is formed of ‘entroque limestone’. On the western side of these rocks, the steep slopes consist of grey marl. On the gentler slopes of the eastern side of the rock formation, marly limestone predominates.
WINEMAKING & AGEING: Maison Jean Loron vinifies the musts from designated plots under the supervision of its oenologist, using temperature-controlled fermentation, followed by ageing on fine lees for six months to achieve greater roundness. Partially aged in oak barrels.
FOOD AND WINE PAIRINGS: Scallops, pike quenelles, prawns, tarte tatin and vanilla ice cream
