Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is bold and rich, characterised by aromas of red berries and fresh spices.

The attack is supple, driven by a lovely freshness and harmonious balance.

On the palate, it displays a bold and distinctive character, with a rich, lingering finish in a modern style.

The finish has a slight hint of technical refinement, with good length that prolongs the aromatic expression.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE TARIQUET

Located in Gascony, in south-western France, Domaine Tariquet is a family-run estate that has been in the same family since 1912.

As a grower-producer, all the estate’s wines and Bas-Armagnacs are made exclusively from grapes grown on its own vineyards. Since the early 1990s, the estate has practised sustainable viticulture to preserve soil life and biodiversity.

In June 2021, Domaine Tariquet also achieved ‘Confirmed’ status under the Engagé RSE (Corporate Social Responsibility) label at its very first audit, representing the third level out of four.
