Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is expressive, frank and typical, with aromas of candied blackcurrant, candied pepper and blackcurrant coulis.

The attack is supple and fleshy, marked by tension and finesse.

The wine is well-balanced and has a lovely character, dominated by black fruit coulis and floral nuances.

The finish is sapid, satiny and frank, with notes of peony and candied blackcurrant, sustained by a fine persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • LES JAMELLES

As the main grape variety of the Cahors appellation, Malbec is also grown in the Bordeaux region and thrives particularly well in Argentina, where it enjoys immense global popularity.

Though sometimes temperamental, Malbec requires optimal ripeness to fully showcase its richness.

It truly excels on poor soils, delivering wines of remarkable quality.
