Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

The nose, initially discreet, gradually opens up to reveal notes of cocoa, ripe black fruit and vanilla wood.

The attack is supple and enveloping, carried by a beautiful balance.

The palate is frank and harmonious, developing an elegant finish with hints of spice and black fruit coulis.

The persistent finish expresses notes of kirsch, bringing richness and depth to the whole.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOUDET-NAUDIN

Founded in 1849 by Albert Brenot in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Doudet-Naudin is one of the oldest wine houses in Burgundy.

Acquired in 1933 by the Doudet family, the estate was developed and allowed to flourish, while preserving its core values: respect for tradition and excellence.

Christophe Rochet, now at the helm of Doudet-Naudin, demonstrates his determination to safeguard the values of this venerable House, while shaping its future direction.
