Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The open, greedy nose evokes the beginnings of a bouquet with pretty notes of candied red fruit subtly enhanced by a hint of vanilla, a sign of well-mastered ageing.

The supple attack, carried by tension and finesse, reveals fine balance and character. The silky tannins accompany a harmonious, elegant palate.

The supple but full-bodied finish prolongs the aromas with a fine persistence, true to the style of the vintage.

A typical, racy wine, both charming and well-structured, with the right blend of delicacy and elegance.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • 2021, a vintage of patience and precision!

    • The start of winter was marked by alternating cool and mild periods.

    • In April, a historic frost episode significantly reduced yields.

    • A very rainy spring was followed by a slow-to-settle summer, which was overall quite cool.

    • A beautiful late season in September and October helped preserve the grapes’ aromatic freshness and achieve a perfect acid–alcohol balance.
