Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open and expressive, with notes of kirsch, cherry stem and blackcurrant, enhanced by a hint of mint and a lovely freshness.

The palate is supple and elegant, with silky tannins and a character marked by morello cherry, mineral notes and a hint of milk chocolate.

The finish is tangy, crisp and balanced, with a lovely length of morello cherry and undergrowth, offering good persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • FAMILLE MASSE

The Masse estate covers 15 hectares of vineyards, cultivated using traditional methods. The estate has been HVE-certified since 2019. Fabrice Masse took over from his father in 2000. Honouring his father’s legacy has always been a priority for him.

It was his father who passed on to him a passion for wine and the vineyard; it was his father who taught him everything he knows, and he is keen to do what his father and grandfather did before him: pass on the family knowledge.

But, like every generation before him, he also wishes to add his own touch and take advantage of advances in winemaking techniques. Fabrice Masse produces elegant wines with silky tannins that are fruity and delicious.
