Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is expressive, with aromas of herbs, roasted black fruits and spices, with notes of caramel and fresh pepper.

The attack is full-bodied, offering a beautiful texture and good balance.

The palate stretches out with a frank and generous finish, asserting a frank and distinctive character.

The finish is sustained, pleasantly prolonging the aromas.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE GOUMARRE

The Domaine de Goumarre is cultivated on a variety of soils. Part of it lies on siliceous soil, which brings suppleness, another part on grey clay soil, which offers roundness, and a final part on red clay soil mixed with pebbles, which provides beautiful complexity.

The grapes are harvested by hand and meticulously sorted directly in the vineyard. With a controlled yield of 30 to 35 hl/ha, this estate stands out for its authenticity and high quality standards.
