Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

The nose is clean and bouqueted, marked by roasted spices and roasted black fruits, with a hint of vanilla and coconut.

The woodiness, still slightly present, will blend in over time.

The attack is fleshy, offering body and beautiful balance.

The palate asserts a rich character of spices, black pepper and black fruit coulis, with a full sensation and supple tannins.

The finish is sustained, with notes of strawberry juice, and the finish is round, without harshness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE DE LA CLAPIÈRE

Sourced from one of the estate’s finest plots, also known as Gatefer, this cuvée fully expresses the southern character of the region.

The wine’s well-controlled power, combined with a long, lingering finish enhanced by subtle menthol nuances, makes Gatefer a truly exceptional wine, both intense and refined.
