Domain and appellation

  • Château Filhot was founded in 1709 by Romain de Filhot, a counsellor at the Parliament of Bordeaux.

     

    It has been passed down through generations, and is today owned by the Count Henri de Vaucelles.

     

    The 62 hectares of vineyards and the vast park of the château lie on the southern slope of the Sauternes hill.

     

    Renowned for its exceptional wine, Filhot is also celebrated for its English-style landscaped park, designed in 1845 by landscape gardener Louis-Bernard Fischer.
