Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Deep pink colour with fluorescent highlights, clear and brilliant. Open, powerful nose with notes of candied grapefruit, redcurrant and mango, very expressive. Supple, pearly attack, full-bodied, with a character of red fruit and spices. Good balance. Full-bodied, ample finish, with red fruit and citrus fruit, a hint of grey pepper, crisp and full-bodied.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Since 2012, the Château Paradis team has taken over the running of the vineyard and makes the wines in collaboration with Michel and Bastien Tardieu.

Domain and appellation

  • CHÂTEAU DE FONSCOLOMBE

After three centuries of history, the Château de Fonscolombe is once again opening its doors. Previously strictly private, this listed historic monument is now a 5-star hotel. The estate is in an exceptional setting, at the crossroads of the Luberon and Mont Sainte-Victoire. The 40 hectares of vines benefit from a continental climate. This cool terroir, with its clay-limestone soils, gives our wines freshness and finesse.
