Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Straw-coloured with a green tint. A clean, woody, brioche nose with notes of acacia flowers and yellow fruit. A supple attack, with tension and fullness. Good length. Typical frank character. Good persistence on buttery, brioche notes.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Au Pied du Mont Chauve - Famille Picard

"From the Earth to the Bottle, my aim is to produce highly precise, parcel-based wines while working to preserve our environment and our raw material: the vine." Francine Picard A great classic, born of a singular year produced in conditions and a context that were complicated for everyone, marked by a historic earliness. The result is absolutely exceptional and remarkably classic! The particular conditions of this vintage have produced a balance that is unprecedented and quite unique. The white wines are fruity and beautifully complex, with excellent acidity. The vines are managed biodynamically. The soil is grassed over naturally and worked mechanically. The vines are pruned using the guyot method with long canes and disbudded every other eye, so that the bunches finish beautifully and airily. The wine is matured on its lees for 18 months (65% in undergrowth and 35% in stainless steel vats).
