Le Grand Enclos is a 55-hectare vineyard protected by stone walls. It was first cultivated in 1604. Located in the most northerly part of the Saint-Julien appellation, the soils of Le Grand Enclos have formed two hills that slope down towards the Gironde estuary. Its proximity to the Gironde creates a temperate climate. The river, which has sculpted this site over millions of years, protects the vines from frost.
