Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
The nose is straightforward, opening with aromatics, woody and vanilla notes, before evolving into a coulis of red fruits enhanced by a touch of pepper.
On the palate, the wine shows a little character, but a straightforward finish, with roundness and ripe tannins.
The character remains indulgent, centred on candied red fruits.
The finish is medium-length, in a supple and accessible whole.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Domain and appellation

BARTON & GUESTIER
Nestled between Nîmes and Alès, in the southern Rhône Valley, this Syrah flourishes on clay-limestone soils under a Mediterranean climate—hot sunny days and cool nights—perfect for optimal ripeness and balance.
Sustainable farming practices ensure low yields, manual care, and minimal intervention, allowing the vines to express themselves naturally. Only 12,000 bottles are crafted per vintage. Each cuvée number marks the year, with N°300 celebrating 300 years of Barton & Guestier.
Winemaking: Grapes are destemmed, undergo daily pump-overs, and enjoy a 3-week maceration to enhance depth and finesse.
Aging: 6 months in French oak barrels lend structure and elegance, preserving the purity of the fruit.
