Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

A clear, limpid and brilliant wine with a luminous golden colour.

The nose reveals woody and vanilla notes, opening up to hints of almond, frangipane and candied yellow fruit.

The attack is full-bodied, marked by a beautiful balance, roundness and richness, without any heaviness.

The palate stretches out with a clean finish and hints of butter and delicate brioche.

The finish is good, supported by a touch of finesse that brings elegance and precision to the whole.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE PRUNIER-DAMY

Auxey-Duresses lies at the entrance to a valley which, from the Côte de Beaune, stretches into the Hautes-Côtes on the road to La Rochepot and Autun.

Established in Auxey-Duresses for several centuries and now covering 16 hectares, Justine has taken over the family estate, which was managed for 40 years by Philippe and Annie.

A true family story: it results from the combination of the PRUNIER parcels on Philippe’s side and the DAMY-GAGNARD parcels on Annie’s side. The estate’s first vineyard acquisition dates back to 05 September 1712, with the purchase of a plot close to the village by Pierre Gagnard.

On the Prunier side, the estate is said to have begun around 1840 under Philippe’s great-great-grandfather, Jean-Baptiste Prunier.
