Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

A cloudy wine with a straightforward nose, characterised by notes of red fruit, with a hint of animal character to be confirmed on analysis, as well as hints of leather and spice.

The attack is somewhat full-bodied and well-structured, but the wine lacks persistence overall.

The finish is marked by chewy tannins.

Once opened, however, the wine reveals a lovely, distinguished character, finesse and good balance, in a style that will appeal more to discerning wine lovers.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • VINS JÉRÔME ARNOUX

Having taught myself the trade at the age of 17, I began my career in the vineyard and cellar, working for over twenty years as an employee at various wine estates in Arbois; this allowed me to gain a thorough understanding of both the terroir and the winemaking processes for different grape varieties.

Today, we produce and select grapes from the finest terroirs of the Jura to craft our own vintages.

The fruit of the vine and human labour, these grapes come mainly from the vineyard we cultivate as sustainably as possible within the Arbois and Côtes du Jura AOCs. Committed to quality and with the utmost respect for our produce, our wines are fermented using only indigenous yeasts they are unfined, minimally filtered and vinified with minimal sulphur.

We hope you will enjoy discovering them as much as we have enjoyed making them. Enjoy! Jérôme Arnoux
