Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is open, offering fresh, delicious aromas of pomelo and bigarreau cherry, without being overly technological.

The attack is greedy and fleshy, with good balance, tension and freshness, while remaining frank and lively.

The finish is also full-bodied, with a more modern, gourmet touch, underlined by a light, sweet spice that gives it a lovely complexity.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • On the hillsides of the eastern coast, and in the interior valley of the Golo, lies the birthplace of the traditional Corsican vineyard.

It is nestled against the rocky ridges, which rise to 1200 metres. A range of rich terroirs can be found there.

Terroir: The terroirs are located on the east coast of Corsica.

Viticulture: Soil work, natural cover cropping, and yield control.

Vinification: The grapes mainly come from carefully selected properties (only from Protected Designation of Origin).

Fermentation takes place in Mythos tanks (Italian technology used for great wines from Tuscany).

Perfect control of fermentation temperatures is achieved. Stainless steel ageing takes place for a minimum of 12 months before bottling.
