Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Light lemon yellow colour. Medium bubbles. Nice open and frank nose of white flowers, white fruits, hint of pink pepper. Good balance on a light, frank body, with a little finesse. Nice fresh, floral and fruity character. Tight finish, still a little young.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Maison Bouvet-Ladubay

Founded in 1851 by Etienne Bouvet, son of a cooper, the Bouvet-Ladubay house is a true historical monument of the fine bubbles of the Loire. Through 160 years of history and passion, the saumuroise House has elaborated numerous vintages with incomparable know-how, always under the motto of Etienne Bouvet, Excellence. Located in the heart of the A.O.C. Saumur in Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent, this old house is known for its 8 kilometres of cellars dug into the tufa stone. In 2015 the house was bought by the Monmousseau family. Viticulture: Bouvet-Labuday sources its grapes from a hundred or so partner winemakers.
