Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Copper colour with a deep mahogany sheen. Clear nose of vanilla wood, praline notes, notes of peach and apricot jam, hints of orange peel. Well-balanced, full-bodied and well-balanced. Good body with sweetness, without heaviness. Nice straightforward character with a fresh, round and rather greedy finish.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • This Bayou rum from the most important rum distillery in the USA, situated in Louisiana, is aged up to 4 years in bourbon and Bordeaux wine barrels according to the Solera method, which produces rums with great flavours and an extreme softness. This method consists of placing the barrels in a pyramid, those with the oldest rum at the bottom. The youngest rum, at the top of the pyramid, will be assembled with the rum below, and so on, until it reaches the oldest rum. With its complex aromas and intense softness, it will appeal to all palates, from the expert to the novice.
