Our oenologists' opinion

Its nose is very pastry-like, evokes a pie with nuts and caramel, embellished with some cooked fruits and sweet spices.
The mouth is sweet, almost syrupy on the first sip, and is marked by the intensity and diversity of its aromatic palette: candied fruits, walnuts, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, ginger, licorice candy ... and a touch of smoke.
The finish is very long on honeydew and candied fruit, enhanced by spices.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Distilerias United S.A.

Bought in the 2000s by a group of local investors, the DUSA distillery (United Distilerias SA) is located at the foot of the Andes. In 2004 they marketed the famous Diplomatico Reserva.
    • Distillery: The distillery of over 100 years, has kept a certain craftsmanship. With a large stock of aged rums, it develops beautiful complex blends.
    • Manufacturing: Made with 80% sugar cane honey and 20% molasses, this rum is distilled in Pot Still Scotch (cane honey) and column (molasses). It is then aged 12 years in former bourbon casks.
