Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

This rum offers a fine, elegant and precise nose of candied fruit, stewed peach and floral notes. On the palate, it has a nice balance. Stretched on notes of cocoa, smoke, and candied fruits with a touch of cane sugar.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Located in the heart of the sugar cane plantation, the maison Clément is the only caribbean “habitation” that remains open to public. This terminology is used in the Martinique island to describe a farming domain.

Domain and appellation

  • Habitation Clément

Since 1887, the production of the prestigious Clément rum has been carried out in the purest tradition and according to the rules inherited from Homer and Charles Clément. Jealously preserved, this “family know-how” is passed down from generation to generation. Clément agricultural rum is produced from the direct distillation of pure fermented sugar cane juice and in strict compliance with the rules of the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC Martinique).
