Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Greediness and flavors are to discover by tasting this gold whiskey which releases fruity and greedy fragrances of pineapple, fresh apricot, blond caramel and vanilla. The whole is spiced by a touch of ginger. In mouth, roundness and balance are allying with an enveloping side. The length features iodic notes and a taste of caramel.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Do you know ?

Jura is a little island of 200 inhabitants near Scotland. This isle is crossed by only one road. It leads to the distillery and the only pub of the island.

Domain and appellation

  • Isle of Jura

The Isle of Jura, located between the Isle of Islay and the Scottish Mainland, has nearly 150 inhabitants and more than 4,000 red deer. Nicknamed the “deer island”, it only has one distillery, certainly one of the oldest in Scotland and one of the most isolated. Founded in 1810, the distillery was closed between 1914 and 1963 and acquired in 1995 by the Group Whyte & Mackay Ltd.

    • Production: Coming from a selection of the best single malts from the island, this whiskey is lightly peated with hints of smoke. It is then aged in old bourbon barrels.
