Our oenologists' opinion

Shiny sustained amber color, powerful but not very complex nose of dried banana, dried prunes, woody notes, a fresh hint of juniper. Nice balance, frank, structured and full, nice character with notes of lemon zest, citrus fruits, blond caramel, then notes of roasted wood, dried banana, frank, long and tense finish with a fresh hint of juniper.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

A true symbol of Scotland, Fettercairn is the second distillery in the country to have obtained a distillation licence in 1824. Fettercairn is now back in the spotlight with this new single malt that will delight both novices and connoisseurs. In a new case, this whisky will be presented in a fine and fruity style where subtlety will be at the service of balance.
