Powerful bouquet

Straw yellow colour with an old gold sheen. Open nose with notes of blond tobacco, caramel, lightly smoked, a hint of young leather and menthol. Round, greedy attack with sweetness, fresh wood, smoky notes, fairly dominant alcohol. The finish is spicy, warm, dominated by alcohol and hints of pepper, tense, with a hint of iodine and peat, and good length.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

WHITE OAK DISTILLERY

Distillery: The White Oak distillery belongs to the Eigashima company which is one of the oldest sake producers in Japan. It is located in the city of Akashi, near Kobe on the island of Honshu.

Production: Aged for 3 years in bourbon barrels.

Tasting notes: Delicate nose with notes of chamomile, sherry and malt. In the mouth, this whisky is round and subtle with notes of butter and vanilla. Soft woody finish.
