Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The famous Ninkasi brewery-distillery passionately produces single malts that are brewed, distilled and aged in Tarare (a few kilometres from Lyon). Each bottle is the result of a unique know-how around barley malts (acquired since their first brew in 1997) and an ageing in wine casks from the terroirs of their region.

Domain and appellation

  • NINKASI

Ninkasi Whisky Chardonnay is the distillery's first permanent single malt. It is the result of a blend of new French oak casks, ex-chardonnay and viognier casks. Once the bottle is opened, aromas of tonka bean and salted butter toffee mingle with a background of white grapes. Stewed apricot and plum coat your palate. The finish is long and smooth. A slight smoky note reminiscent of fresh lemon thyme closes the experience.
