Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The history of the Mandarine Napoléon goes back to Antoine-François de Fourcroy, the count of the empire, chemist to Napoléon I and inventor of this liqueur. The Emperor himself enjoyed this drink very much.

Domain and appellation

  • Mandarine Napoléon

Introduced to Europe in the early 19th century, mandarins were considered an exotic fruit. The habit of macerating the mandarins in cognac was quickly adopted. Thus the Mandarin Napoleon was born, which the Fourcroy family commercialised at the end of the 19th century. Still today, the recipe for this internationally known liqueur is kept secret and carefully passed down from generation to generation by the Fourcroy family.

Delicious and savoury, it can be consumed alone or in a cocktail and it serves as a base for many culinary preparations.

    • Production: Mandarine Napoléon is a refined liqueur based on cognac, mandarin zest from Spain and Sicily and a secret mixture of spices.
