Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

  • Keeping level Ready to drink

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The bottle with the wax seal, red ribbon and ivory label with its Gothic letters virtually has not changed since 1880. The shape of the bottle, meanwhile, was inspired by the cognac still.

Domain and appellation

  • Grand Marnier

Created in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge is a liqueur that combines the exoticism of bitter orange with the nobility of cognac according to a recipe kept secret by the Marnier-Lapostolle family.

    • Production: A fine connoisseur in cognac, Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle had the bold idea of combining it with a rare variety of oranges from the Caribbean: the bitter orange. Slowly aged in oak barrels, Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge thus acquires an incomparable roundness and complexity.
