Powerful bouquet

Silver colour with grey, bluish reflections, crystalline, brilliant; open, very expressive nose with fresh notes of juniper berries, bitter orange, sea spray, a hint of iodine and eucalyptus; round, greedy, ample attack with notes of lime, chilli, smokiness and verbena; good balance, powerful finish with a signed character; good persistence with chilli, smokiness and lemon notes

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Darnley's gin

Distilled in the Lowlands of Scotland, Darnley's cottage series gins tell the story of the people, landscape and plants found in East Newhall in Fife. Darnley's Smoke & Zest is made from Fife barley smoked over pine chips, coriander and wild rowan berries harvested around the distillery. But let's not forget the special ingredient, Lapsang Souchong tea, a personal favourite of our master distiller Scott Gowans, with orange peel.
