Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is bold and distinctive, characterised by notes of caramel, roasted grains and dried apricot.

The attack is supple, carried by a lovely roundness and a slight sweetness.

The palate develops with a clean finish, featuring aromas of honey, quince and malty grains, offering a lovely balance.

The finish lingers with notes of toffee, spices and cinnamon, bringing warmth and indulgence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • BUFFALO TRACE DISTILLERY

For over 200 years, the distillery has been producing bourbon on the banks of the Kentucky River. Along this river, the tracks left by migrating bison opened up new paths for exploration.

BUFFALO TRACE bourbon pays tribute to the free and independent spirits who had the courage to follow those tracks.

First launched in 1999, BUFFALO TRACE Straight Bourbon is now a whisky renowned among connoisseurs.

Distilled from a mash of corn, rye and barley, it reveals notes of honey, vanilla and candied fruit, whilst a hint of spice and oak adds depth.
