Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Bright yellow colour with amber reflections, beautiful open nose, frank and original with fresh aromas of dill, notes of pits, morello cherries, rather salty notes of resin. Beautiful balance on a round, ample, melted alcohol with tangerine zests, morello cherry notes, freshness on peppermint, fine, elegant and original.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Linie Classic is the flagship product of the Norwegian aquavit range whose history is now a myth!

Domain and appellation

  • LINIE

In 1805, the Lysholm family decided to export their aquavit to India. The precious liquid would travel in oak barrels. Faced with commercial failure, the ship returned to Norway, where it was discovered that the maturing process of several months in barrels made the product significantly better. From then on, each drop of Linie travels 4 months around the world before being bottled. Linie Classic is made from a neutral potato-based alcohol and distilled with a selection of Scandinavian spices and herbs. The distillate will then be aged in Oloroso sherry casks and refined in casks travelling around the world on a boat.
